There is no separate JIPMER MBBS application form or JIPMER entrance exam for 2027 planning. NRI students who want MBBS admission at JIPMER must apply for NEET UG through NTA, qualify the exam, and then participate in MCC UG counselling for JIPMER Puducherry and JIPMER Karaikal.
The older process of visiting the JIPMER website, completing a separate JIPMER MBBS entrance application and paying a separate JIPMER entrance fee is obsolete. JIPMER itself currently publishes MBBS admission brochures for students who have been allotted seats through MCC.
2027 planning note: As of September 2026, JIPMER has published MBBS admission material for the 2026-27 academic year. The NEET UG 2027 application dates and MCC 2027 counselling schedule should be checked when the official notices are released.

The actual entrance application for JIPMER MBBS is the NEET UG application. NRI students should use the official NTA NEET portal when NEET 2027 registration opens.

Under the current NEET pattern, students answer 180 compulsory questions in 180 minutes for 720 marks. Physics has 45 questions, Chemistry 45 and Biology 90. The marking scheme is +4 for a correct answer, -1 for an incorrect answer and 0 for an unanswered question.

After NTA publishes the NEET result, download the scorecard and confirm the All India Rank. Qualifying NEET only makes the student eligible to participate subject to applicable rules. It does not guarantee JIPMER admission.
JIPMER is highly competitive, so the important admission reference is the applicable MCC closing rank, not merely the NEET qualifying percentile.
NEET registration and MCC counselling registration are separate steps. A student who qualifies NEET must still register on the MCC portal during the counselling window to compete for JIPMER MBBS seats.
JIPMER Puducherry and JIPMER Karaikal are separate MCC choices. Parents should place them in the preference order the student actually wants. Do not assume that a seat at one campus can later be transferred or exchanged for the other campus.
