Older NEET pages may still mention a 3 hour 20 minute paper and a 200-question format. The latest official NEET UG 2026 pattern returned to 180 compulsory questions in 180 minutes for 720 marks. For 2027 preparation, solve old papers for question quality, but practise your final timed mocks according to the official 2027 pattern once NTA publishes it.

How USA-Based NRI Students Should Use NEET Past Papers

1. First attempt: solve chapter-wise PYQs after each topic.
2. Second attempt: solve a complete recent paper under timed conditions.
3. Mark every error: classify it as concept, recall, calculation, reading or guessing.
4. Repair the gap: return to NCERT/notes before attempting another paper.
5. Repeat under OMR conditions: U.S. students accustomed to digital testing should practise bubbling answers accurately.
6. Track scores: monitor accuracy and negative marks across several papers, not one test.
