NTA provides examination cities outside India in selected countries. Students should understand that the application form asks for an examination city preference. The exact centre within that city is allotted later.
For NEET UG 2026, the official international list contained 14 examination cities. These are useful planning references for NRI and overseas families preparing for the next NEET cycle.

The student should first confirm the cities available in the current NEET application. The 2026 list is useful for planning, but it does not guarantee the same cities for the next exam.
The 2026 international cities were concentrated mainly in the Gulf region, South Asia and Southeast Asia. This can be useful for NRI families because many students may already have relatives, familiar travel routes or direct flights to these locations.
Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah were all listed in 2026, giving UAE-based and travelling NRI families multiple city options.
Kuwait City, Doha, Manama, Muscat and Riyadh were included in addition to the UAE cities.
Kathmandu and Colombo were available in the 2026 international list.

The NEET UG 2026 international examination-city list did not include a city in the United States. That means a USA-based student planning around the 2026 list would need to consider an available international city or travel to India.
This does not mean the USA can never be added in a future NEET cycle. Students preparing for the next exam should wait for the current NTA city list before making final travel arrangements.
Consider Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Sharjah if they are available in the student's application year.
Compare flights, visa requirements and travel time for other listed cities.
India can make sense when the family is already planning a longer visit or has strong family support there.
It is not necessary that there will be one answer that suits everyone. It will be easier for UAE for an exam-oriented short trip but India can be a good choice in case the family has some plans to visit their relatives or admission purposes.
It is recommended to take into consideration all of the above mentioned factors, which are passport and visa of the student, flight plan, academic schedule and possible examination locations.

Traveling to India would not necessarily mean that there will be extra requirements for re-entering the United States than traveling to UAE. This will depend on the individual's citizenship and immigration status.

Below is an example of a plan. It is not a statement about any particular TestPrepKart student. The aim is to show how a family residing in the U.S. can plan the trip in case there is a UAE exam city option for NEET application.
The family comes some days before NEET rather than coming straight before the test.
The student is well-rested, gets used to the time zone, and maintains moderate revisions.
The family calculates the travel time for the real center listed on the admit card.
The student comes to the center earlier with the required documents and things.
After the completion of the test, the family takes some days to visit Dubai or other parts of the UAE.
The family comes back with the appropriate travel and entry papers for their particular situation.
It is not because UAE is difficult to be legally entered by all families of NRIs. Rather, in this case, it is easier for UAE.
NEET need not be converted into a lengthy India trip for the family.
The test is done first before the family takes a short break in UAE.
In case the center is located in the same city of the UAE where the family lives, their traveling would become easier.
An international journey can lower the number of days spent out of school.
In case the family goes to a holiday together by combining NEET, the sightseeing must be scheduled post exams. Prior to the examination, the student must focus on having adequate sleep, drinking water, light study and making it to the center without pressure.
In the application for the NEET UG 2026, the candidates had to pick three cities from the list provided for taking the examination. The final city allotment is through computers.

On filling up the NEET UG 2026 form, applicants are required to choose three cities for their examination from the provided list. The allocation of final centres is done by the computer itself.
The admit card carries the details of the last exam center. The family must consider the location on the admit card while planning the last leg of the journey.
It is important for the student to distinguish travel-related documents from those related to NEET examination day. The passport is an important document for traveling outside the country, but it is also important to consider the NEET admit card requirements.

The student who gives NEET abroad cannot regard the examination as a relaxed one. Examination discipline is required. The student must strictly adhere to the timing for reporting, guidelines on the admit card, dressing, and other instructions concerning what is allowed for the present year.
Do not rely on normal local travel times on exam day.
Visit or map the centre area before exam morning.
Carry only the required and permitted items.
Avoid sightseeing, late dinners and long travel before NEET.
For an NRI family, the examination journey should be planned with the same care as the academic preparation. A missed flight, visa issue or late hotel arrival can create unnecessary exam stress.

If the student needs a valid U.S. visa to return, travelling to UAE instead of India does not remove that requirement. Check the student's U.S. immigration documents before booking either trip.
India may be the better choice when the family is already planning to visit, the student has relatives near an available exam city, the trip is being combined with admission-document work, or the family wants to remain in India for a longer period after NEET.
The goal is not to prove that UAE is always better than India. The goal is to choose the option that creates the least travel risk and exam stress for that particular student.
Always wait for the new city list.
