DASA 2025: Eligibility Criteria
The DASA (Direct Admission of Students Abroad) 2025 scheme is for foreign nationals (including NRIs and children of NRIs) seeking admission to undergraduate engineering programs at participating institutions in India. Here's the eligibility criteria for DASA 2025:
1. Nationality Requirements
- Foreign Nationals/NRIs/PIOs/OCI cardholders are eligible for the DASA scheme.
- Children of Indian Workers in Gulf (CIWG) are eligible for the CIWG category.
2. Academic Qualifications
- Class 12 (or equivalent): Candidates should have completed their 12th-grade education (or equivalent) with Physics, Mathematics, and English as compulsory subjects.
- Minimum Marks:
- For general candidates, a minimum aggregate of 60% or an equivalent grade in the qualifying exam.
- For CIWG category, the same eligibility criteria are applicable.
3. JEE Main 2025 Score
- Candidates must have a valid JEE Main 2025 score (for NRI/Foreign National applicants).
- The JEE Main score is mandatory for all candidates applying under the DASA scheme.
4. Age Limit
- The candidate should be born on or after October 1, 2000.
5. CIWG Category Specific Criteria
- CIWG Candidates: Must be children of Indian workers in Gulf countries, i.e., GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) countries.
- GCC Countries include Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.
- Proof of NRI status: The parents should be working in these countries for the last 3 years (before applying).
- Education Requirement for CIWG: The candidate must have studied 11th and 12th standards from a recognized institution in the Gulf.
6. Direct Entry for NRIs/PIOs/OCI Cardholders
- The candidate should have passed Class 12 from abroad (excluding India).
- They must meet the JEE Main 2025 eligibility and submit the scorecard.
7. Document Requirements
- Proof of Foreign National/NRIs/PIO/OCI Status (such as a valid passport, visa, or OCI card).
- Class 12 mark sheet and certificate.
- JEE Main 2025 scorecard.
- Birth Certificate (for age proof).
- NRI/OCI/PIO related documents as proof.
8. Other Conditions
- English Proficiency: Since the courses are in English, candidates should have proficiency in the English language.
- Minimum Age: Applicants should have completed 17 years of age by December 31, 2025, for admission.
What’s CIWG?
CIWG stands for Children of Indian Workers in Gulf.
Countries that fall under CIWG are Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Iran, and Iraq. The NRI applicants who fall into this category must submit their proof of either parent working in a Gulf/Parent Visa/Parents work permit/Certificate from the organization parent has been working for.
The total numbers of admissions under DASA scheme are over 2500. I.e. 1/3rd quota of admissions are allotted to Children of Indian Workers in Gulf (CIWGs) & 2/3rd quota admissions are allotted to Non-CIWG scheme (UG students from the rest of the world).
