Registration fee is non-refundable. Refund of tuition fee, full or part, will be determined based on the candidate’s counselling status and official refund rules.
DASA Enrolment Fee, also called DEF, is the amount paid during DASA registration.

The CIWG is a financially attractive option because the first semester fee is much lower than the standard DASA Non-SAARC fee.

DASA Non-SAARC: Applicable for eligible candidates under regular DASA Non-SAARC category.

DASA SAARC DASA SAARC is for eligible foreign nationals of SAARC countries, as per official DASA rules.

Candidates in the SAARC category are advised to check the official eligibility conditions in detail before opting for this category.

This option can increase the chances of getting a seat as the candidate can fill choices of both CIWG and Non-CIWG.
If final admission is given under CIWG category, balance tuition fee will be refunded as per official DASA refund rules.

For Gulf-based NRI families, CIWG can reduce the first-semester tuition burden significantly.
Registration fee of US$300 is non-refundable.
This means that the registration fee will not be refunded even if the student does not get a seat or is ineligible.
The refund rules are mainly for the tuition fee component.
The tuition fee may be refunded depending on the student’s action during counselling.

As per the official payment process, parents residing in India or abroad can pay the prescribed fee in Indian Rupees at the prevailing exchange rate in place of US dollars.
Students are required to follow the portal instructions carefully while making payment as the fee has to be successfully completed and updated before the deadline.
Fee payment is not just a payment step. It affects the student’s participation in DASA counselling.

Parents should not wait until the last day for payment because payment gateway issues, bank delays or transaction failures can affect the application.
After seat allotment and admission, students may have to pay balance tuition fee, institute charges, hostel fee, mess fee and other charges directly to the allotted institute.

Every institute may have different fee rules for hostel, mess, caution deposit, medical insurance, student activity fee and other charges.
Students should check the allotted institute’s website for final fee details.
Most of the students applying through DASA prefer NITs and IIEST Shibpur. However, students should note that DASA Enrolment Fee is only the first payment to be collected at the time of registration.
The admitted student will have to follow the institute level fee instructions given by the allotted NIT or IIEST Shibpur after allotment.
