NTSE Reservation Policy 2025

The National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) follows the reservation policy as prescribed by the Government of India. It provides reserved seats for candidates from specific categories as per the rules.

Key Points to Know About Reservation:

1. State-Level Stage 1:

   • The State Liaison Officer (SLO) of each state sets the eligibility criteria for each category.

   • SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates are allotted seats based on the reserved quota in each state.

2. National-Level Stage 2:

   • The National Level examination (Stage 2) also follows this reservation policy. The percentage of scholarships will be distributed based on the category-wise reservation.

   • Candidates from SC/ST/OBC/PwD categories will get separate merit lists for scholarship allocation.

3. Qualifying Criteria for Reserved Categories:

   • Reserved category candidates need to meet the minimum qualifying marks in both MAT and SAT to be eligible for the final selection.

   • The cut-off for SC/ST/PwD candidates is usually lower than for the General/OBC category (typically 32% instead of 40% in each paper).

4. Disability Certificates for PwD:

   • For PwD candidates, a disability certificate issued by a government-recognized medical authority is required to avail the reservation.

5. Number of Scholarships:

   • The number of scholarships is distributed as per the reservation policy, and each category’s percentage is based on the total number of scholarships offered in the examination.
