For Indian Class 10 students, NCERT (National Council of Educational Research and Training) administers the National Talent Search Examination (NTSE), a national scholarship test. Its goal is to find and support gifted students in India by offering them financial aid up to the Ph.D. level.

1. Check Eligibility
|
Students of Class 10 from recognized schools can apply. No domicile restriction.
|
2. Visit Official Website
|
Go to the NCERT website or respective State Education Board website.
|
3. Download/Collect Application Form
|
Obtain the NTSE application form online or from the state liaison officer (if applicable).

4. Fill Personal & Academic Details
|
Enter personal details, school information, and academic records correctly.
|
5. Attach Required Documents
|
Upload scanned copies of photograph, signature, caste/disability certificate (if applicable).
|
6. Get School Verification
|
Submit the filled form to the school for verification and attestation.
|
7. Submit Application
|
Submit the form online or offline as per the respective state’s guidelines.
|
8. Pay Application Fee (if applicable)
|
Some states may charge a nominal fee, payable online or via DD.
|
9. Download Admit Card
|
After submission, download the admit card from the official portal.
|
10. Appear for the Exam
|
Take the NTSE Stage 1 exam as per the scheduled date.

Directions for NTSE Application Form 2025
1. A circular or advertisement will be issued by the State and Union territory accordingly the candidates need to apply for the level-1 Exam. Generally the advertisement is released in the month of July-August.
2. The NTSE application form for the year 2020 can either be collected from the Liasoning Office as mentioned below in the list or kindly visit the NTSE information website here NTSE website.
3. Applicants can either download the Application Form, from the official site or get it from the recorded contact officer. The NTSE Application Form for 2020 should be submitted directly to the registration office.
4. Candidates will have to submit the NTSE Exam Fees along with their NTSE Application Form.
5. Applicants cannot send their NTSE Application frame to the official address of NCERT.
6. Candidates are not required to apply for NTSE stage 2 exams 2020 as NTSE Application 2020 is a one-time Application process, which is completed at the time of registration for stage 1 exam.
Candidates could get the Application Form of NTSE 2020 to apply for the two-level exam as specified beneath -

Acquire Application Form – Candidate can download the Application Form, through the official website or collect it from the listed liaison officer. to download the Application Form, the candidate has to go to the “Programs” tab on the official website, www.ncert.nic.in and click on the link “National Talent Search Examination” in which the link of “Application Form for NTSE 2020” will be given, by clicking on it, application form will be downloaded.

Complete the Application Form – Candidates got to fill the details regards to personal details, academic details and contact details in the Application Form in their own handwriting as per the directions and affix their photograph in conjunction with signature at the place provided on the Application Form.

Pay Application fee – Candidates need to dispatch the Application fees as indicated by the Sate and Union Territories exam leading body.

Submission of Application Form – The application Form has to be submitted (after getting it signed by the head of the institution) at the official address of the state liaison officer in an offline mode only. Candidates should make sure the NTSE form 2020 has been crammed and connected with needed documents as per the directions solely. Candidates will either send the NTSE 2020 form via speed post/registered post or will submit it at the official address by visiting the liaison workplace in the personally.
Fill NTSE Form for Foreign Candidates

Download the Form: On the official website, look for “NTSE Form for Indian students studying abroad” link and download the same to your system along with NTSE information brochure.

Form Filling: Take a print out on the legal (8.5” x 14”) paper. Fill the form and attach class IX mark sheet and apply through their Institutional Head, where they are presently studying. In the covering letter candidates needs to mention the details of the State or Union Territories in India, where they wish to appear for the exam.

Submitting Application Form: Applicant has to fill the Application completely, paste the passport size photograph in the place given and Self-attest the photograph. Later put in an envelope the Application Form and the covering letter.
Documents to Be Attached with NTSE Form

Colored photograph not older than 6 months from the date of form filling.

Dark background.

No goggles only simple spectacles.

No makeup in the photograph clicked for the form.

Hair must be properly tied.

Photograph must be clicked in school uniform.

Indian nationals do not have to produce any document with the application form.

Students of Indian origin who are doing class 10 from abroad, have to prove their Indian citizenship, so they have to attach a copy of class IX-mark sheet.
