For the 2025-26 admission cycle, Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT) Allahabad has been announced as the coordinating institute for DASA admissions across 58 participating institutions in India. These include NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, and SPAs.

DASA/CIWG UG 2025-26: Registration Process

1. Create Account on the Official DASA Website

• Visit the official DASA 2025–26 portal.
• Register using your email ID and create a secure password.
• Select the correct category: NRI / OCI / PIO / Foreign National / CIWG.
• Students from the USA & Middle East must mention country of residence accurately.
  

2. Fill the Online Application Form

• Enter personal details (passport information, DOB, nationality).
• Provide academic details for Grades 10, 11 & 12.
• Upload details of JEE Main 2025 sessions taken (January & April).
• CIWG applicants must select CIWG category and provide Gulf parent details.
  

3. Upload All Required Documents

Upload clear scanned copies of:

• Passport (student)
• Passport of parent (CIWG applicants)
• Parent’s Gulf employment proof (visa, work permit, company certificate)
• Grade 10 & 12 mark sheets

4. Pay Registration Fee + 1st Semester Tuition Fee

You must pay:

• $300 Registration Fee (Non-Refundable)
• CIWG Fee or DASA Fee based on your category

Approx payment breakdown:

• CIWG: ₹62,500 (₹ INR tuition equivalent)
• DASA Non-SAARC: $4,000
• DASA SAARC: $2,000

5. Document Verification

• DASA officials will verify each uploaded document.
• If any document is incomplete, you will receive a notification to re-upload.
• CIWG applicants must ensure that parent employment proof is valid and current.

6. Choice Filling of Institutes & Branches

• After verification, log in to fill institute & branch preferences.
• You can choose from NITs, IIITs, SPAs, and CFTIs.

DASA UG 2025-26: Application Form Filling

Once you begin filling the DASA UG 2025–26 application form, you will notice that several documents must be submitted during registration. After creating your account on the official DASA portal, applicants must log in using the registered email ID and password to access the application form.

• Any Government-issued Birth Certificate.

3. Academic Documents

• Mark Sheets of Class 10, 11, and 12 (or equivalent).
• Certificate from the school (Appendix-II format) confirming completion of Class 11 & 12 or equivalent.

4. Proof of NRI Residency Abroad

(Mandatory for students applying from USA, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Saudi Arabia, etc.)

• Evidence of last 2 years of education in a foreign country:

5. Proof of Fee Payment

6. If Class 12 Is Not Yet Completed

• Candidates must provide an undertaking in the online application stating that the final results will be submitted later.

7. Students Appearing for Class 12 in 2025-26

• First-semester tuition fee

CIWG Update

1. Change in Residential Criteria (Background Reference)

As per Government of India order F. No. 35-9/2016-TS.III dated 22 May 2017, the residential criteria for DASA UG admissions were modified as follows:

“At least two years of education, including Grades 11 & 12, must be completed in a foreign country during the last 8 years, and the qualifying exam must be passed from abroad.”

This relaxation was applicable only for the academic year 2017–18.
Updated residential criteria for DASA/CIWG 2025–26 must be verified from the upcoming brochure.

For NRI students living in the USA, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, and Saudi Arabia, the updated 2026 brochure will confirm whether this relaxation continues or has been modified.

2. What is CIWG?

CIWG stands for Children of Indian Workers in Gulf Countries.
It is a sub-category within DASA designed for NRI/OCI/PIO students whose parent is employed in any of the following Gulf nations:

• UAE
• Saudi Arabia
• Qatar
• Kuwait
• Oman
• Bahrain
• Iran
• Iraq

NRI students living in the USA can also apply under CIWG only if a parent works in one of the above Gulf countries.

3. Seat Reservation Structure

• 1/3rd of all DASA seats are reserved for CIWG candidates.
• Unfilled CIWG seats shift to the General DASA category (Non-CIWG) during later rounds.
• If seats remain vacant in the spot round, they are permanently transferred to DASA General seats.

4. CIWG Eligibility Rules

The eligibility for CIWG remains similar to NRI eligibility under DASA:

Academic Requirements

• Completed Grade 12 or equivalent
• Subjects include Math + Physics + (Chemistry/Biology/Biotech/CS)
• Must have a valid JEE Main Rank & Percentile (SAT is discontinued)

Parent Employment Proof (Mandatory for CIWG)

Parent must be employed in a Gulf country and provide:

• Passport copy
• Working Visa copy
• Work Permit (if applicable)
• Employer Certificate (Appendix III of DASA brochure)

5. Category Options for Students

Applicants can select:

• CIWG Only
• DASA (NRI) Only
• Both CIWG + DASA

If choosing both, the candidate must initially pay the NRI/DASA fee. If allotted under CIWG, the extra fee is refunded.

6. CIWG Fee Structure

Expected Fee Pattern (as per recent cycles):

• Registration Fee: USD 300 (non-refundable)
• Tuition Fee: Same as Indian resident students (semester-wise)

If the fee is revised by competent authorities, the same applies to CIWG students.

7. CIWG Seat Movement Rule

If a CIWG student does not secure a CIWG seat but has opted for both categories, they automatically become eligible for General DASA Quota based on JEE Main rank.

8. Academic Eligibility

• Must meet DASA academic requirements
• JEE Main Rank is mandatory
• SAT/SAT Subject Tests no longer accepted since 2021

Q2. Will SAT or SAT Subject Tests be valid for DASA admissions in 2025?

No. SAT and SAT Subject Tests are not accepted for DASA/CIWG from 2021 onward. For 2025, admissions remain strictly based on JEE Main Percentile and AIR, applicable to all NRI/CIWG applicants, including USA and Gulf countries.

Q3. What is the advantage of JEE Main over SAT for DASA/CIWG 2025?

JEE Main is the only officially recognized exam for DASA admissions. It ensures transparent, rank-based seat allocation across NITs, IIITs, SPAs, and CFTIs. SAT holds no relevance for DASA/CIWG as of 2025.

Q4. What is the eligibility criteria for NRI, OCI, PIO applicants under DASA/CIWG 2025?

Candidates must be NRI/OCI/PIO/Foreign Nationals, have completed Grade 12 with Math + Physics + one science subject, possess a valid passport, and submit a valid JEE Main 2025 score. CIWG applicants must additionally provide Gulf parent employment documentation.
