DASA CIWG Application Form Filling
Once you start filling the DASA/CIWG online application, you will be required to submit specific documents during registration. Below are the key guidelines NRI students (especially those living in the USA and Middle East) should follow while completing the form.
After creating your account, log in using the registered email ID and password. NRI/OCI/PIO/FN applicants can enter any number of choices in preferred order selecting institutes and branches as per the priority list available on the portal.
The official portal will publish a recommended sequence and detailed instructions once the application window for DASA 2026 opens. During form filling, applicants must ensure they upload:
Latest passport-size photograph: (JPG, ~3.5 cm x 3.5 cm, file size < 100 kB)
Scanned signature: (JPG, file size < 100 kB)
Scanned documents: such as passport, academic proofs, JEE Main Scorecard, CIWG parent-employment documents, etc. (JPG format, max file size < 500 kB, colour/B&W/Gray scale accepted)
Make sure the scanned documents are clear and legible. Incorrect formatting or blurred documents may delay verification.
Applicants can use simple tools like Microsoft Paint or Office Picture Manager to resize photos and documents before uploading. Ensure the photograph is clear since it will appear on the admission order, and all scanned documents must be clearly readable.
Before final submission, click Preview Application Form to confirm that all details and uploads are correct. If any changes are needed, use Edit Application Form, update the information, then submit.
Once submitted, download the completed form using Download Application Form and keep a saved copy (and print, if needed) for future verification.
You must also upload eligibility documents while completing the form, including passport copies, academic records, and CIWG proof for students belonging to Gulf countries.
DASA UG 2026 – Documents Required for Eligibility
While filling the DASA 2026 application form, candidates must upload eligibility documents related to academics, foreign residence, and fee payment. Ensure that your name exactly matches across passport, qualifying exams, and JEE Main scorecard.
Applicant’s Passport (For Nepal nationals without a passport, submit a verified citizenship card, confirmed from the 2026 brochure.)
Date of Birth Proof (Class 10 certificate or any valid government-issued DOB document)
Mark Sheets of Class 10, 11 & 12 (or equivalent)
School Certificate confirming completion of Grade 11 & 12 outside India (in prescribed format as per DASA 2026 appendix)
Proof of Last 2 Years of Education Abroad (Study Certificate, School Leaving Certificate, or Mark Sheets showing U.S./Middle East schooling)
Fee Payment Proof (only if paid through SWIFT transfer)
Undertaking if Class 12 results are yet to be released in 2026
Students appearing for Class 12 exams in 2026 can apply provisionally by submitting all documents along with registration and semester fee within the application deadline.
DASA UG Documents Needed (Scanned Copies) for CIWG Students
If you are applying under the CIWG quota (Children of Indian Workers in Gulf countries) from the USA or Middle East, you must upload specific documents related to your parent’s employment in eligible Gulf nations. These include:
Parent’s Passport (must clearly show nationality and identity)
Parent’s Gulf Work Visa / Residence Permit (Valid for Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE as per CIWG rules)
Employment Proof from employer in the Gulf (Company letter, employment contract, or HR certificate confirming active employment)
These documents verify your CIWG eligibility along with the standard DASA academic proofs.
CIWG Update 2026
For the 2026 admission cycle, CIWG (Children of Indian Workers in Gulf) eligibility continues under the DASA scheme for NRI students living in Gulf countries. Students must verify that their parent is currently employed in an approved Gulf nation (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, or UAE) and upload valid employment and residency proofs during application. CIWG seat reservation and fee benefits remain applicable for 2026 admissions based on JEE Main Rank.
For the 2025-26 cycle, the official coordinating institute is NIT Rourkela.
As per the 2025 brochure, NRI/OCI/Indian-nationals studying abroad (including CIWG) must have completed at least two years of education abroad (including 11th & 12th) within the last 8 years to be eligible.
CIWG seats remain part of the DASA quota: CIWG reservation is roughly 1/3 of DASA’s supernumerary quota (≈ 5% of total DASA-quota seats).
Fee structure for CIWG in 2025–26 cycle: registration fee (USD 300) + first-semester tuition fee ₹ 62,500 (or equivalent) for CIWG seats under NITs / CFTIs.
Documentation requirement remains: besides academic proofs and JEE Main scorecard, CIWG applicants must upload parent’s Gulf-employment proof (passport, visa/work permit/residency, employer letter) to claim CIWG quota benefits.
What to watch out for / verify once 2026 Brochure is out
The exact number of CIWG-reserved seats for 2026 (will be declared in the updated seat matrix) may differ from 2025.
Fee details, sometimes institutes revise fee rules annually; check if CIWG fee remains ₹ 62,500 per semester or changes.
Deadlines for application, document upload, fee payment, and seat allotment rounds, these vary each year, always check the official portal (dasanit.org).
Validity of proofs: ensure parent’s Gulf employment visa / work permit is current, as this determines CIWG eligibility.
CIWG Fee Structure (2025 / 2026)
For CIWG applicants in 2025, the registration fee remains USD 300 (non-refundable).
Tuition fee for first semester under CIWG is ₹ 62,500.
Institutes (e.g. NIT Calicut) this academic year confirmed the same semester-wise fee of ₹ 62,500 for DASA-CIWG students.
For Non-CIWG (DASA international) seats: registration is USD 300, and tuition is USD 4,000 per semester for 2025.
Thus CIWG remains significantly cheaper (≈ Indian-fee level) compared to Non-CIWG fee structure, a key benefit for Gulf-based NRI/OCI applicants.
Implication for applicants (2026): if you apply under CIWG quota, expect to pay about ₹62,500 + USD 300 initially, and similar semester fees thereafter (unless announced otherwise).
Cut-Off / Seat-Allotment Trends
The 2025 seat matrix shows a total of 4,562 seats across all participating institutes under DASA, divided between CIWG and Non-CIWG categories.
Detailed branch-wise and round-wise cut-offs (opening & closing ranks) for 2025 have been published after Round 3 allotment.
Compared to earlier years, competition has increased: cut-offs across popular branches (CSE, ECE, IT) under CIWG / DASA have tightened.
For 2026 cycle, there is no official circular changing the basic cut-off or seat-allocation process, allotment will remain strictly based on JEE Main AIR + seat-choices + category (CIWG / Non-CIWG) in multiple rounds.
Implication for 2026 aspirants: Expect competition levels similar to 2025 strong JEE Main ranks remain essential, especially for top branches/institutes under CIWG.
