USA-based NRI students targeting AIIMS MBBS admission in 2027 should not look for a separate AIIMS entrance exam date. AIIMS MBBS admission is through NEET UG, so the relevant exam date is the NEET UG 2027 exam date announced by NTA.
Current status as of September 2026: NTA has not yet published the official NEET UG 2027 exam date. The official NEET website is still displaying the 2026 cycle. USA-based families should therefore avoid treating any third-party 2027 date as confirmed until NTA issues the official notice.
| Event | 2027 Status | What USA-Based NRI Students Should Do |
| Separate AIIMS MBBS Entrance Exam | Not applicable | Prepare for NEET UG instead. |
| NEET UG 2027 Exam Date | Not officially announced yet | Follow NTA's official NEET notice when released. |
| Exam-City Intimation | To be announced | Do not book non-refundable travel until official city information is available. |
| NEET UG 2027 Admit Card | To be announced | Check exact centre, reporting time and ID instructions. |
| NEET UG 2027 Result | To be announced | Use AIR and applicable category to plan MCC AIIMS choices. |
| MCC AIIMS Counselling | After NEET result | Register separately for MCC and fill AIIMS choices. |
The old AIIMS MBBS entrance examination has been discontinued. This means students should no longer search for an independent “AIIMS exam date,” “AIIMS admit card date” or “AIIMS result date” for MBBS admission.
| Old AIIMS Process | Current Process |
| Separate AIIMS entrance exam | NEET UG conducted by NTA |
| Separate AIIMS admit card | NEET UG admit card |
| Separate AIIMS entrance result | NEET UG score and All India Rank |
| AIIMS entrance counselling | MCC UG counselling |
The 2026 cycle can help families understand how quickly exam-related notices can change, but it should not be used as the 2027 schedule.
| 2026 Event | Official Reference |
| Original NEET UG 2026 examination | 3 May 2026 |
| NEET UG 2026 re-examination | 21 June 2026 |
Important: these are historical 2026 dates only. For 2027, use the final NTA notice and admit card.
| Milestone | Why It Matters |
| NEET Application Opening | Starts the official application process. |
| Application Deadline | USA families must convert the deadline from IST correctly. |
| Correction Window | Final chance to correct permitted registration details. |
| Exam-City Intimation | Helps with international travel planning. |
| Admit Card Release | Confirms exact examination centre and reporting instructions. |
| NEET Exam Date | This is the actual entrance-exam date for AIIMS MBBS aspirants. |
| Result Date | AIR determines the next stage of AIIMS planning. |
| MCC Counselling Dates | AIIMS choice filling and seat allotment happen here. |
For U.S. Grade 12 students, the NEET exam period can overlap with AP exams, semester finals, prom, graduation activities and college-decision deadlines. This makes early planning especially important.
| Possible Conflict | How to Plan |
| AP Exams | Finish major NEET syllabus gaps before the AP-heavy period and switch to revision/MCQs during AP weeks. |
| School Finals | Use shorter weekday NEET sessions and protect longer weekend revision blocks. |
| Graduation | Avoid booking travel until the official exam date and school calendar are clear. |
| U.S. College Deposits | Families considering both U.S. and Indian pathways should understand deposit/refund rules before making commitments. |
Do not assume that the same overseas NEET test cities will be available in 2027. NTA can change the test-city list, so wait for the official 2027 bulletin before making non-refundable travel bookings.

| 6-12 Weeks | Move into full-syllabus revision, timed subject tests and error-log repair. |
| Final 4-6 Weeks | Full mocks, NCERT recall, formula/reaction revision and exam-condition practice. |
| Final Week | Light revision, sleep stabilization, document check and travel readiness. |

What is the AIIMS exam date for 2027?
There is no separate AIIMS MBBS entrance exam date. Students should follow the NEET UG 2027 exam date announced by NTA. As of September 2026, NTA has not officially announced that date.
Is May 2, 2027 the confirmed NEET date?
No official NTA notice confirming May 2, 2027 is available as of September 2026. Some third-party education sites may list tentative dates, but USA-based families should wait for NTA confirmation before booking travel.
Do AIIMS and NEET have different exam dates?
No. For MBBS admission, AIIMS uses NEET UG. There is no separate AIIMS MBBS entrance examination.
Can an NRI student take NEET from the USA?
Students should check the official NEET 2027 test-city list when released. Do not assume that an overseas centre available in a previous year will automatically remain available.
When should a U.S. Grade 12 student start full mock tests?
Start full-syllabus mocks after substantial syllabus coverage, then increase frequency during the final preparation phase. The exact schedule should be based on diagnostic results rather than a fixed universal number of mocks.
What comes after the NEET exam for AIIMS?
After the result, eligible students register for MCC UG counselling and fill AIIMS choices based on their rank, category and preferences.
