Prior to participating in DASA counseling, NRI parents should know about the entire fee structure of NIT Goa, which includes tuition fee, hostel fee, mess fee, scholarship fee, and many more academic-related fees. This article explains the whole NIT Goa DASA, CIWG, B.Tech, M.Tech, MS (Research), and Ph.D. fee in an easy manner for the academic year 2026-2027.
NIT Goa Fees For NRI Quota (DASA And CIWG)

The main fee categories at NIT Goa include:
| Fee Component | Description |

Regular B.Tech Tuition Fee: ₹62,500 per semester for General, OBC, and EWS category candidates, as well as institute and hostel fees. SC, ST, and PwD candidates can get fee exemptions or concessions according to Government of India and institute guidelines.

For the NRI candidates studying in other nations like the USA, Canada, UK, Australia, Singapore, etc., the common procedure followed to take admission into B.Tech at NIT Goa is DASA Non-SAARC. But, if the candidate’s parents are workers from India working in one of those eligible Gulf countries and the candidate fulfills the requirements of CIWG, then the CIWG is a cheaper option than DASA Non-SAARC as the fee for the former is much less than that of the latter.

In addition to the fee, the NRIs must make financial provisions for hostel charges, mess charges, transportation, books, laptop, and other expenses.

In case of NRI candidates seeking a career in software, AI, data sciences, semi-conductors, and international technology firms, Computer Science & Engineering (CSE), and Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) are considered the most desired branches at NIT Goa.
NIT Goa also provides M.Tech courses in different streams of engineering. The admission process can be done via GATE, CCMT counseling, or institute-level admission process depending upon the course and availability of seats.
DASA and CIWG are mainly for B.Tech course admission purposes and do not apply for M.Tech courses. Students belonging to the category of NRI, OCI, and PIO who wish to pursue M.Tech from NIT Goa are advised to check the guidelines of GATE/CCMT and institute notification.
| Category | Admission Route | Fee Note |
| Indian Students | GATE / CCMT | M.Tech fee semester-wise as per the rules of the institute |
| Sponsored Candidates | Institute Admission Process | The fee will differ based on the category of sponsorship |
| NRI / OCI / PIO Students | Institute Rules / Applicable PG Admission Route | One should keep in view the current year admission notification for NIT Goa PG program |
| DASA / CIWG Students | Usually Not Applicable for M.Tech | DASA and CIWG are basically for B.Tech admissions |
NRI students need not take it for granted that the fee pattern of DASA/CIWG is applicable for M.Tech course as well. It is recommended that candidates should check the admission notification released by NIT Goa for postgraduate courses for the latest information on the same.

MS Research programme and other research-oriented programmes are available at NIT Goa as per the availability in respective departments and as per recent institute notifications. The programmes are different from normal B.Tech and M.Tech programme and follow their own admission process and fee structure.
DASA and CIWG apply only for B.Tech and normally not for the MS Research program. Non-resident Indians (NRIs), overseas citizens of India (OCIs) and persons of Indian origin (PIOs) who want to pursue research program must refer to the recent notifications of NIT Goa.

| CIWG Fee Benefit | It is available only to eligible Children of Indian Workers in Gulf Countries under the DASA scheme |
The ideal strategy for NRI parents would be to determine the total cost of the education first and then consider scholarships/financial aid as bonus for their children if they qualify. Because the DASA Non-SAARC tuition fee is in USD, it becomes very important to do proper planning. Eligible CIWG applicants can greatly reduce their education expenses by leveraging the lower tuition fee under the CIWG category.
