DASA 2026 Round 1 Seat Allotment Result Out For Candidates Appearing In Direct Admission Of Students Abroad Counselling Process
Eligible NRI, OCI, PIO and Foreign National students who have completed DASA registration, document verification, payment of applicable DASA Enrolment Fee and choice filling can now verify whether they have been allotted a seat in a participating NIT, IIIT, IIEST, SPA, Other-GFTI or other participating institute.
DASA seat allotment is based on:

Freeze = Keep seat and stop upgrading
Float = Keep seat and seek a higher preference
Slide = Keep institute and seek a better branch

Withdraw = Leave counselling
Candidates should not ignore the counseling portal and should actively check their willingness status.
Under DASA 2026, Float is generally used as a default willingness for an eligible candidate to move on to the next round.
But when they have already got their first preference, then the applicable default is Freeze, because there is no higher choice left.
Do not depend on the default option. Review your allotment and make an informed decision before the willingness deadline.
