1. ALLOCATION OF SEATS (Engineering NRI Quota)
The university reserves 5% of the total sanctioned strength for the NRI category in each branch of B.E., B.Tech., and B.Plan programs, which are considered supernumerary, as outlined in the university's prospectus for 2023-24. In the case of B.Arch, 5% of the seats within the sanctioned strength are specifically allocated for the NRI category.

2. NRI Engineering Admission Fee
The application fee for the University is USD 250, and the annual tuition fees varied from USD 5,000 to USD 7,500, contingent on the specific course.

3. ELIGIBILITY – GENERAL (B.E / B.Tech. / B.Plan. / B.Arch.)
- The candidate's NRI status is contingent upon the NRI status of their Father, Mother, or Legal Guardian. The most recent NRI status certificate issued by the Indian Embassy of the respective country, bearing the official seal, should be submitted. (Note: Affidavit for NRI status will not be accepted). Any Embassy Certificate obtained before January 2024 will not be considered valid.
- The NRI (Father / Mother / Legal Guardian) is required to submit the Employment Certificate, as outlined in Annexure – II. In instances of self-employment, supporting documentation detailing the nature of the business, annual income, and Income Tax payments (for the last 3 years) must be provided.
- Registration Fee payable is US $ 250 (+18% GST). The payment shall be made using Debit Card / Credit Card only. The Transaction charges for online payment, if any, should be borne by the candidate.
- Submit the specified documents.
4. ELIGIBILITY – ACADEMIC (B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Plan.)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:
- Candidates must have passed one of the following qualifying examinations:
- Higher Secondary Certificate (XII Standard) or equivalent OR 8+4 type of Foreign Boards OR 9+3 type of Foreign Boards
The applicant must have successfully cleared all subjects and attained a minimum aggregate of 45% in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry collectively.
MODE OF SELECTION:
Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria will be summoned for counseling according to their merit. The merit list is formulated based on the marks obtained in the designated subjects, scaled to 200 (Mathematics: 100, Physics + Chemistry: 100), during the qualifying examination (XII std. or equivalent).
5. ELIGIBILITY – ACADEMIC (B.Arch.)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
Candidates must have passed one of the following qualifying examinations:
- HSC (Academic) / Equivalent: Individuals who have successfully completed the 10+2 or an equivalent examination, having studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM).
- Diploma: Those who have completed a 10+3 years Diploma (in any stream) recognized by Central / State Governments, with Mathematics as a compulsory subject.
- International Baccalaureate Diploma: Students who have obtained the International Baccalaureate Diploma after 10 years of schooling, with Mathematics being a mandatory subject.
MODE OF SELECTION:
- Admission to the architecture course requires candidates to have successfully completed the 10+2 scheme of examination, securing a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Alternatively, candidates who have passed the 10+3 Diploma Examination with Mathematics as a compulsory subject and attained at least 50% marks in aggregate are also eligible for admission.
- Applicants are required to secure a minimum aggregate of 50% in all subjects combined, encompassing H.Sc. (academic), 10+3 years Diploma, or International Baccalaureate Diploma.
- To gain eligibility, the candidate must successfully pass an architecture aptitude test administered by the Council of Architecture (NATA).
6. COUNSELING PROCEDURE
- Following the publication of the Rank list, candidates will be invited to engage in Online Counselling (Choice filling) based on their Merit order. The Counseling Web Portal, allowing the selection of the Institution/Branch of study, will be activated subsequent to the release of the Merit List.
- Allocation under the NRI category does not adhere to communal reservation.
- During the Online Counseling process, candidates are required to make an initial deposit of $1,000 through online mode, along with a non-refundable Counseling fee of $50 (+18% GST) for participation. The initial deposit will be credited towards the tuition fee.
- After the provisional seat allotment is completed, no changes to the Branch or Institution will be allowed.

Asnwer: Not eligible, For Anna University Engineering admission candidates must have studied Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. The candidate should have passed in all the subjects and scored a minimum average of 50 percentage in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together.
Q6. I have done my XII from IB board. Am I eligible to apply?
Asnwer: Yes, IB Board is considered equivalent to CBSE. However, before you are granted admission, you will have to show that you satisfy the eligibility criteria. If your Board does not give marks in percentages, you can get the percent conversion from the Principal of the school.
