Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) is set up by MHRD to set a discipline for seat allocation for admission into IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs colleges.
The JoSAA counseling process is conducted in 6 rounds and each round has a different opening and closing rank for IITs.
Candidates have to secure a minimum number of ranks by which they can get admission to top IITs as per their Cutoff.
If a candidate does not get a seat in an IIT college in the third round of JoSAA counseling, then he can get a college in the fourth round of JoSAA counseling.
