National Institute of Technology Warangal was founded in 1959 as Regional Engineering College Warangal. The Institute itself is a residential campus of about 248 acres consisting of academic departments, laboratories, a central library and residential facilities.

Candidates applying for B.Tech admission must meet all the following conditions.
A valid JEE Main 2026 Paper 1 Common Rank List rank is compulsory. A good Class 12 result alone does not provide admission, and qualifying for JEE Main does not guarantee a seat.

Candidates must obtain at least 75% marks or 7.5 CGPA out of 10 in aggregate across five subjects, according to the applicable board rules. This replaces the outdated 60% requirement stated in the old article.
For Indian nationals and eligible OCI/PIO candidates, DASA mandates a minimum of two years of education abroad in the last eight years, including Classes 11 and 12 or equivalent. The candidate must also pass the qualifying examination from a foreign country. Separate official rules cover foreign nationals studying in India or abroad.
For the CIWG, the applicant must first qualify for DASA, and then prove the parent’s qualifying Gulf employment through official documentation. CIWG is a fee and seat category; it is not a scholarship.
Fee planning should include registration fee, first-semester tuition, institute charges, hostel, mess and travel costs before final choice filling.

The registration fee of US$300 is non-refundable. DASA Registration Fee covers registration and tuition for the first semester. The amount of DASA General tuition is US$4,000 per semester. The 2026 reporting notice for NIT Warangal also states:
The DASA SAARC concession is available to eligible foreign-national, OCI or PIO candidates from SAARC countries other than India, subject to the qualifying-examination conditions. Generally NRIs are allotted DASA Non-SAARC category unless eligible under CIWG.
The fee structure of NIT Warangal 2026-27 UG has first semester B.Tech tuition fees of ₹62,500 and other fees of ₹42,500 which makes the first semester total ₹1,05,000 for the regular applicable category. The fee remission rules are applicable separately for eligible JoSAA/CSAB candidates & shall not be automatically applicable for DASA candidates.
