The student must satisfy normal DASA eligibility and the CIWG parent-employment/document requirements.

DASA stands for Direct Admission of Students Abroad.
It is a Ministry of Education admission framework through which participating NITs, IIITs, IIEST, SPAs and other listed institutions offer supernumerary seats to eligible overseas candidates.
For 2026, DASA undergraduate admission is based on JEE Main. The old SAT Subject Test-based DASA information should not be used.
NIT Trichy participates in DASA for both B.Tech and B.Arch programmes.

For Indian NRI candidates, simply having parents living abroad does not satisfy the DASA residential requirement.
Under DASA 2026, the eligible Indian nationals should have completed at least two years of education abroad including Class 11 and 12 or equivalent during the stipulated eight-year period and should have cleared the qualifying examination abroad.
