TNEA stands for Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions. It is a Counseling & Seat Allotment body established by Government of Tamil Nadu & conducted / managed by Anna University, Tamil Nadu.
The purpose of this counseling body is to allot students / candidates into various Engineering Courses such as B.Tech, B.E. many more.
TNEA is not an Engineering Entrance Exam but it is simply a Counseling body that Ranks the Grade 12th (or equivalent) qualified students based on the Marks they score in Grade 12th (or equivalent) Board Exams.
Based on these Rank, it sets a cutoff for admissions of various eligible students after the Counseling & Seat Allotment procedures are done by TNEA.
DoTE (Directorate of Technical Education) also makes various decisions for TNEA.

TNEA Eligibility:
State / Nationality / Nativity Eligibility:
Candidates who are Tamil Nadu natives but have passed any of the VIII, IX, X, XI, and XII class or their equivalent examination from schools situated outside Tamil Nadu can also apply. However, such candidates will have to enclose a copy of their nativity certificate only in online mode (electronic form/digitally signed e-Certificate)
Candidates whose parents are central government employees will be also eligible to apply for admission, irrespective of their nativity, provided if their parents or guardians (only if both parents are not alive) have been serving in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past 5 years at the time of application submission. The same has to be supported by enclosing a certificate from the employer of the parent or guardian, to that effect
Foreign Nationals, NRI Students, CIWG category NRI Students not satisfying the above criteria can also apply for TNEA Counseling, but they must consult once with the “Centre for International Affairs of Anna University” as each year, these eligibility criteria may be subject to change

DASA-2027 will be coordinated by one of the NITs (as officially stated on the DASA portal).
The conducting NIT for 2027 is yet to be confirmed, and the official DASA Brochure 2027 will
be released shortly after the announcement.
Admissions to undergraduate and postgraduate programs under the DASA scheme for 2027 will be
based on JEE Main Score 2027, including for NRI students living in the USA and Middle East
applying under CIWG/DASA quota.

The minimum age of the candidates should be 18 years.
The maximum age of applicants should be 25 years.
For the Marine engineering branch, candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English as a separate subjects with an average of 60 % in PCM combined
A minimum of 50 % in English either in class 10 or 12 standards is required for all the candidates.

TNEA Online Application / Registration Fees for Students:
Candidates who are interested in applying online for Anna University NRI Quota counseling are asked to pay a sum of $200 USD. [Although Indian resident students pay Rs. 500/- (General Category) & Rs. 250/- (OBS/SC/ST Category)]

Applicable Transaction / Convenience fee for online payment, if any, should be borne by the candidates

Counseling for Govt. (7.5%) Special Reservation Categories
The TNEA Counseling starts during the Choice Filling Process. After each round, students get allocated to the Colleges according to the choice & Courses they choose.
Indian & NRI students who wish to take admissions in the colleges that they have been assigned to, they must report at the institute for document verification & Fee Payment. This must be followed for each round.
If a student isn’t satisfied with the allotted seat in a particular College or Course, he/she can skip the document verification/reporting/fee/payment & try their luck for the next round.
Indian & NRI Candidates are required to pay the initial deposit of INR 5000 (general category) and INR 1000 (SC/ST/SCA category) as the counseling fee.
