What is CIWG Scheme?
One particular quota under the DASA (Direct Admission of Students Abroad) scheme is the CIWG (Children of Indian Workers in Gulf Countries) Scheme. It is intended to provide children of Indian expats employed in the Gulf nations who want to attend prestigious Indian technical schools entry advantages.
Who Can Apply?
Students whose parents are Indian nationals working in Gulf countries can apply under the CIWG category.
Eligible Gulf countries include:
United Arab Emirates (UAE)
Saudi Arabia
Qatar
Oman
Kuwait
Bahrain
Seats Reserved for CIWG
5% of the total DASA seats in participating institutions are reserved for CIWG candidates.
If CIWG seats remain vacant, they are converted into the DASA General category seats.
Participating Institutes
Premier institutions like NITs, IIITs, SPAs, and other centrally funded technical institutions (except IITs) offer seats under the CIWG quota.
Fee Structure
CIWG candidates pay the same tuition fees as Indian students instead of the higher DASA fees.
Approximate fee structure:
CIWG Fee: ₹1.25 lakh per year (same as domestic students).
DASA (Non-CIWG) Fee: Around $4000 per year.
