AP Exams Date Sheet & Timings

AP Art & Design: The deadline for AP Art and Design students to submit their three portfolio components as final to the AP Digital Portfolio is Friday, May 9, 2025 (8 p.m. ET). 

Start Times

Exams have local start timings, which might be up to one hour after the official start time. 

• 8 and 9 a.m. local time for morning exams.
• 12 and 1 p.m. local time for afternoon exams.

Exams Using Digital Portfolios

• AP Seminar and AP Research students: The deadline for submitting final performance assignments and having your presentations graded by your AP Seminar or AP Research teacher is April 30, 2025 (11:59 p.m. ET).
• AP Computer Science Principles students: The deadline for submitting your Create performance job as final is April 30, 2025 (11:59 p.m. ET).
• AP Art and Design students: The deadline for submitting your three portfolio components as final in the AP Digital Portfolio is May 9, 2025 (8 p.m. ET).

Registration and Exam Dates 

Q. When will the year’s AP Exam schedule be revealed?

A. The AP Exam schedule is typically released by the college Board in the fall of the previous year, which is often in September or October.

Q. Can I select the date of my exam?

A. No, AP The College Board has established certain dates for exams scheduling. However, you can qualify for late testing if you have an emergency or conflict.

Q. What occurs if I don’t show up for my exam?

A. You can be eligible for late testing if an emergency prevents you from taking your exam on time. For help, get in touch with your AP Coordinator.

Timings and Scheduling

Q. When does the AP exam begin?

1. Exams in the morning 8:00 AM local time
2. Exams in the afternoon 12:00 PM local time

Some tests are set at 2:00 PM local time, such as AP Physics C- Electricity and Magnetism.

Q. What is the duration of the AP exam?

A. It depends on the subject you choose, the exam might last anywhere from 2-3 hours.

Q. If I have 2 tests scheduled at the same time, what should I do?

A. You can ask to take one of the tests later if you have a schedule issue. Your AP Coordinator will assist in setting this up.

Q. When does late testing take place, and what does it entail?

A. For students who missed their initial test date for legitimate reasons (such as emergencies or exam conflicts), late testing is an alternate timetable. The third week of May is usually when late testing takes place.

Late Testing and Rescheduling

Q. Does late testing incur extra costs?

A. If there are legitimate reasons for the conflict, including conflicting examinations or illness, late testing usually does not result in additional expenses.

Exam Day Preparation

Q. What time should I get to the testing facility?

A. For check-in and instructions, students should arrive at least half an hour prior to the start time.
