Tamil Nadu Government Colleges NRI Quota Seats & Fees

Seven old URLs put “NRI quota” next to Tamil Nadu government colleges. Four of them were still live after the first cleanup: Kilpauk, Coimbatore, Government Erode (Perundurai), and Thanjavur. I opened the DME prospectus again before I added those four. In that book, NRI quota means 15 percent of seats in self-financing colleges. None of these seven names get that row.

A TestprepKart counsellor will not quote you a dollar NRI invoice for Park Town, Washermenpet, Kilpauk, Panagal Road, Avinashi Road, Perundurai, or Thanjavur. If a USA house still wants one of these buildings, the live door is All India Quota on MCC, at the government rupee stamp, or Tamil Nadu state quota only if the child actually holds the nativity and schooling papers DME asks for. Erode has a third state-side door (IRT / STC wards) that is still not NRI.

Last checked: 11 September 2026. Intake and the ₹18,073 government cheque below are last published from the DME MBBS/BDS prospectus for the 2026-2027 session (tentative government seat annexure and the government-college fee clause). They are not a 2027 live matrix and not a 2027 MCC close. If the current notice moved a number, the notice wins.

What this page is, and what it is not

This page is only about the seven government colleges that used to have their own “NRI quota seats and fee” blogs. I wrote it so a parent who typed one of those titles gets the honest answer in one place: NRI seats here are zero, last-published intake is not the same on every row, and the last published government fee stamp is the same DME line for all seven.

It does not list the rest of Tamil Nadu’s government medical colleges. It does not price PSG, Velammal, CMC Vellore, or any deemed campus. It does not walk reporting after an allotment order. This URL is the seven-name cleanup.

The sentence in the prospectus I read out loud

DME’s 2026-2027 government-quota prospectus defines NRI quota as the share reserved for NRI candidates in self-financing medical and dental colleges (15 percent of those SF seats). The same book splits government-college MBBS into 15 percent surrendered to All India Quota and 85 percent state quota. There is no third government column labelled NRI.

The counselling login for Tamil Nadu state seats is the Selection Committee on tnmedicalselection.net. The old campus blogs invented a body called “TN-MCC.” I do not use that name on a choice sheet. AIQ for these seven is MCC on mcc.nic.in.

Last-published file for these seven only

The 2026-2027 tentative government annexure does not give every name 250 seats. Madras, Stanley and Madurai printed 250. Coimbatore printed 200. Kilpauk and Thanjavur printed 150. Government Erode Medical College, Perundurai, printed 100, and that 100 is split in a way the old Erode blog missed. I still wait for the live matrix before I lock an AIQ count.

Hostel, mess, and later-year university slips sit outside that first government stamp. The old blogs copied hostel bands (₹18,000-₹20,000 on one page, ₹40,000-₹50,000 on another) from template to template. I treat those as leftover and ask the allotted dean’s office for the current hostel demand.

Two doors a USA house still has, and one it usually does not

All India Quota. A NEET-qualified NRI or OCI student can be considered on the 15 percent AIQ list through MCC, the same way any other AIQ candidate is. The fee if allotted is the government stamp, not an NRI dollar fee. This is the only door I plan on for a child who grew up in the United States and does not hold Tamil Nadu nativity papers.

State quota. The usual 85 percent DME list is not an NRI list. The old blogs were right on one point: a USA passport alone does not open it. DME still asks for Tamil Nadu nativity and the schooling trail the current prospectus names (families usually hear Classes 6 to 12 in the state). If those papers are missing, I take these seven names off the state-quota choice list. On the Erode / Perundurai campus I also take the IRT / STC ward seats off a USA sheet unless the family actually holds that ward certificate.

NRI / management on DME. That login is for self-financing campuses. Putting any of these seven government names on an NRI option list will not create a seat. The old Coimbatore blog even told families to register on the DME portal under NRI and pay a higher NRI fee. That sentence belongs to a private campus, not CMCH.

National NEET age (17 by 31 December 2027 unless NTA restates it), PCB, and a qualifying score still apply. I am not turning that into a second eligibility essay. Status papers for a real Tamil Nadu NRI row sit on the NRI eligibility page. Those papers do not convert a government college into an NRI college.

The cheque the 2026-2027 prospectus actually printed

Clause 22 of that government-quota prospectus lists one MBBS total for government medical colleges. I use this line, not the seven different tuition stories the old blogs published (₹13,610, ₹13,425, ₹4,000, ₹6,000, or a made-up ₹23 lakh “government NRI” year).

ESIC, K.K. Nagar, Chennai is a different last-published stamp in the same clause (₹1 lakh; ₹24,000 for wards of insured persons). I do not apply the ESIC line to any of these seven names.

What I would actually say about each campus

Madras Medical College: Park Town, not a private “Madras” brand

When a parent says “MMC,” I ask which city before I open a fee PDF. Madras Medical College sits on Periyar EVR High Road, Park Town, next to Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital. The prospectus travel note is Fort / Central railway station about 1 km and the central bus stand about 0.7 km. Last published intake is 250. Last published NRI seats are 0. The old Madras blog still titled itself NRI quota, then printed a 0 in the NRI seat cell, then billed tuition as ₹13,610 plus a ₹19,215 admission fee. That breakdown is not the 2026-2027 DME government stamp I use. The old page’s last published AIQ General close for 2025 was 1,296. I keep that only as a last-cycle MCC note from that blog. I do not treat 1,296 as a 2027 close. Site named on the old page: mmc.tn.gov.in.

Stanley: Washermenpet, not a second gate of Park Town

Stanley is still Chennai and still government, and that is where families stop listening. The dean desk in the prospectus is No. 1, Old Jail Road, Chennai 600 001. The travel note is Washermenpet railway station about 1 km. That is north Chennai. It is not a walk from RGGGH. Teaching sits with Government Stanley Hospital. Last published intake is also 250, so the AIQ maths looks identical to Madras. The close is not identical. I will not publish a 2027 Stanley rank from the old blog: that page labelled one table “expected” 3,500-4,500 General, then printed 7,100 in a year table, and in the rank heading it called Stanley KMC. KMC in Chennai is Kilpauk Medical College. The same old Stanley fee write-up even said later-year amounts were “as per Kilpauk Medical College’s records.” I throw that fee essay out and keep the shared ₹18,073 prospectus line.

Madurai Medical College: Rajaji Hospital, not AIIMS, not Velammal

This one is not a Chennai campus. The prospectus address is Panagal Road, Madurai 625 020. Travel note: Madurai Junction about 3 km, Anna Bus Stand about 200 metres. Teaching sits with Government Rajaji Hospital. Last published intake is 250. Last published NRI seats are 0. Two mix-ups burn a counselling week here. AIIMS Madurai is a different campus and is also not an NRI pool. Velammal Medical College in Madurai is a self-financing name. If the family actually wants an NRI row in Madurai city, that is a DME self-financing file, not this government college. The same DME prospectus names Madurai Medical College as one of the state’s designated disability-certification centres (with Coimbatore and Thanjavur). That is a document desk, not an NRI seat. The old Madurai blog used the acronym MMC (same as Madras) and, in the year-wise fee heading, wrote “Madurai Medical College (MMC), Chennai.” I do not let that heading put this campus on a Chennai shortlist.

Kilpauk: same EVR High Road as Madras, different dean, 150 seats

Parents who already heard Park Town still treat Kilpauk as “the other MMC gate.” The prospectus dean desk is Periyar EVR High Road, Kilpauk, Chennai 600 010. Travel note: Chetpet about 1 km, Central about 3 km, Kilpauk Medical College bus stand about 50 metres. Teaching sits with Government Kilpauk Medical College Hospital, not RGGGH. Last published intake is 150, so the AIQ maths is about 23, not the 38 I write next to Madras. Last published NRI seats are 0. Two papers sit on this road and families mix them: the college, and the Selection Committee / DME office in Kilpauk that runs the state portal. A Kilpauk counselling address on a notice is not an allotment to this campus. The old Kilpauk blog billed ₹13,425 / ₹4,000 tuition, printed two different hostel bands on the same page (₹40,000-₹45,000 then ₹18,000-₹20,000), and in the clinical paragraph said students at MMC train at RGGGH. That paragraph was pasted from Madras. I throw it out. The old Stanley page had already stolen Kilpauk’s year-wise fee lines and labelled Stanley as KMC. I keep KMC for Kilpauk only.

Coimbatore Medical College: say CMCH, or you may have booked Vellore

The acronym on this campus is the most expensive typo on the list. CMC Vellore is Christian Medical College, a private / deemed file with an NRI row on MCC. Coimbatore Medical College is a government campus on Avinashi Road, Civil Aerodrome Post, Coimbatore 641 014. Teaching sits with Coimbatore Medical College Hospital. Prospectus travel note: Coimbatore railway station about 8 km. Last published intake is 200 (about 30 AIQ). Last published NRI seats are 0. If the family wants a real NRI row in Coimbatore city, that is usually PSG IMSR on DME, not this government hospital. The old Coimbatore blog used CMC in the title, put “Chennai” on the document heading, printed a 2025 “closing rank” table with numbers that look like NEET scores (General 582), then wrote a different expected-rank paragraph (5,500-6,000). I publish neither as a 2027 close. The same page told families to register on tnmedicalselection.net under the NRI quota category and pay a higher NRI fee at this college. That is the sentence I cross out first.

Government Erode Medical College: Perundurai, and 30 seats are IRT wards

This is the only 100-seat campus on this hub, and the old blog treated it like every other government college. The prospectus dean desk is Perundurai Sanatorium, Erode District 638 053. Travel note: Erode railway station about 21 km, Perundurai bus stand about 2 km. It is not an Erode-city walk-in. Last published intake is 100. Last published NRI seats are 0. The same 2026-2027 prospectus carves that 100 as 15 All India Quota, 30 seats for wards of State Transport Corporation / Institute of Road Transport members who pay into the corpus fund, and 55 state-quota general-pool seats. The old Erode page wrote 15 AIQ + 85 state and never mentioned the IRT / STC row. An IRT ward certificate (Annexure VIII in that prospectus) is a state document. A USA house does not hold it by default. The same old page then invented a Tamil Nadu government “NRI” year of about ₹23 lakh, an AIQ year of ₹60,000-₹70,000, and a second pathway called NRI quota. None of those three money lines are in clause 22. I keep ₹18,073 / ₹12,073.

Thanjavur: 150 seats, a PwD desk, and the Erode fee twin

Thanjavur is not a Chennai suburb and it is not Perundurai with a new title. The prospectus address is Medical College Road, Thanjavur 613 004. Travel note: Thanjavur Junction about 7 km, new bus stand about 2 km. Last published intake is 150 (the old blog wrote 22 AIQ / 128 state; 15 percent of 150 is about 22 or 23). Last published NRI seats are 0. DME also names Thanjavur Medical College Hospital as a designated disability-certification centre, with Madurai and Coimbatore. That is why a PwD file may send a family to this campus for a certificate even when the choice list is somewhere else. The old Thanjavur article is the same March 2026 fee essay as Erode: ₹13,610 tuition, ₹23 lakh “government NRI,” ₹60,000-₹70,000 AIQ, and “two admission pathways.” I do not reuse that essay for a delta city. A USA family flying into Chennai still needs a separate rail or road day to report here.

Leave this page. The NRI door in this state is private, and it splits. Self-financing names go through DME. Deemed names go through MCC.
