Karnataka Government Colleges NRI Quota Seats & Fees

If you typed KIMS NRI fee, name the city first. Kempegowda Institute in Banashankari is a private KEA Category C campus (last published 250 intake, 12 Category C seats, ₹42,12,700 a year) and sits on the Karnataka private cluster page. Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences in Hubballi is a government hospital. It has no dedicated NRI list.

The same rule covers the other seven government names on this page: Mysuru, Shivamogga, Belagavi, Hassan, Kalaburagi, Bidar and Ballari. A USA house that still wants one of these buildings uses All India Quota on MCC, at the government G stamp, last published ₹64,350. The labelled NRI door in Karnataka is private Category C on kea.kar.nic.in, or deemed NRI on mcc.nic.in.

Last checked: 12 September 2026. The ₹64,350 figure is last published on the KEA medical-college fee listing used for the 2026-27 planning year. It is not a 2027 live allotment letter. Seat counts on the live KEA / NMC sheet win if they moved. This page will not invent a 2027 official NRI seat total for any of these eight.

The eight names, by city

None of these eight sit in Bengaluru. A parent who booked a Whitefield hotel for “the Karnataka government college” is on the wrong map. Read the current city name first. Four of these towns changed the English spelling on road signs, and the KEA codes did not.

Hostel, mess and later-year university slips sit outside that G stamp. Ask Hubballi or Ballari for the slip they are actually raising this year. Do not budget from a copied hostel band.

The same 2026-27 fee listing prints ₹1,09,350 against the two ESIC medical colleges (Rajajinagar, Bengaluru and Sedam Road, Kalaburagi). That ESI line does not apply to GIMS or to any other name on this eight.

Some third-party pages still say Karnataka reserved 15 percent of newly sanctioned government seats as NRI at ₹25 lakh. That is not how these eight are allotted. Until the live KEA sheet prints an N column against one of these names, plan them as government G / AIQ campuses.

If a fee PDF prints ₹25.09 lakh next to a government name

Some copies of the KEA fee schedule still print an N or management column around ₹25,09,250 against older government institutes (Mysuru, Hassan, Hubballi, Belagavi, Ballari, Bidar, Kalaburagi). That column is the NRI / management fee ceiling those campuses historically carried on the schedule, even in years when no live N or Q seat was allotted. Shivamogga prints NA in that column. A ceiling on a fee PDF is not a seat on the live matrix. It is not “6 NRI seats” and it is not the cheap government NRI door. Category C at Kempegowda last published ₹42,12,700. Category C at Vydehi last published ₹45,12,700. Those private bills are a different login and a different paper set. If the live KEA matrix for 2027 actually allots an N or Q seat at one of these government campuses, the live matrix wins. Until it does, plan these eight as government G / AIQ names.

Two doors a USA house still has from these eight

All India Quota. MCC still takes the 15 percent AIQ slice at these government hospitals. An NRI or OCI child who holds a NEET score competes on that list like any other AIQ applicant. If MCC allots Hubballi or Mysuru, the bill is the government G stamp, last published ₹64,350, not Category C. For a child who grew up in Texas or California and has no Karnataka eligibility file, this is the only government door on the sheet.

State quota on KEA. The usual 85 percent state list is not an NRI list. A USA passport alone does not open it. KEA still asks for the Karnataka eligibility trail the current information bulletin names (families usually hear study-in-Karnataka years, or a domicile / clause the live PDF restates). If those papers are missing, take these eight names off the state-quota choice list.

NEET still needs the national age rule (17 by 31 December 2027 unless NTA reprints it), PCB, and a qualifying percentile. This page will not paste a second eligibility chapter. The sponsor file for a real Karnataka private NRI row sits on the NRI eligibility page. That file does not open Category C at a government hospital.

What is distinctive about each campus

Hubballi: say Vidyanagar, or you may have Banashankari

KIMS Hubballi opened as a government medical college in 1957. The campus families mean is the Vidyanagar teaching hospital in the Hubballi-Dharwad twin city, not a Bengaluru private college. If the parent already has Kempegowda on a shortlist, that private Category C row stays on the Karnataka private page. One acronym cannot carry both bills. KIMS Bhubaneswar is a third campus in another state.

Mysuru: 1924 campus, K.R. Hospital, not JSS

Mysore Medical College is the oldest medical college in the state (founded 1924). Teaching sits with Krishna Rajendra Hospital on the Irwin Road side of Mysuru. JSS Medical College, Mysuru is a different campus and a different login (MCC deemed). If the family wants an NRI row in Mysuru city, they are asking about JSS or another private / deemed name, not this government hospital.

Shivamogga: 2007 government campus, not Subbaiah

Shimoga Institute of Medical Sciences opened in 2007. The city on the railway board is now Shivamogga. The 2026-27 fee listing prints NA in the N / Q columns against this government name, which is the opposite of a confirmed ₹25 lakh NRI door. Do not wait on a sentence that says NRI seats may come “if new seats are sanctioned.” Subbaiah Institute of Medical Sciences is the private Shivamogga campus. That is a KEA private file, not this government hospital.

Belagavi: district-hospital government college, not KLE

Belagavi Institute of Medical Sciences is the government campus in the city that used to be written Belgaum. The Belagavi name that actually has an NRI row on the Karnataka deemed list is Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (KLE), last published 30 NRI seats at about ₹39.1 lakh through MCC. A parent who says “Belagavi NRI” usually wants KLE. Ask which hospital before opening a fee PDF.

Hassan: coffee-district government campus, not a Bengaluru hop

Hassan Institute of Medical Sciences sits in Hassan city, west of Bengaluru on the way toward the ghats, not in a Whitefield hotel radius. A USA family that wants a short drive from Kempegowda International Airport is not describing Hassan.

Kalaburagi: GIMS is not the ESI college on Sedam Road

Gulbarga Institute of Medical Sciences is the government college in the city now written Kalaburagi. Two other medical names sit in the same district and burn a week. ESIC Medical College, Sedam Road is a different campus with a last published G fee of ₹1,09,350, not ₹64,350. Mahadevappa Rampure Medical College is a private KEA name.

Bidar: north-east Karnataka, closer to Hyderabad than to Whitefield

Bidar Institute of Medical Sciences is the government campus in Bidar. For a USA family plotting airports, this is the Hyderabad side of Karnataka, not a Bengaluru suburb. The travel day is different from Belagavi or Hubballi, and the reporting desk is different.

Ballari: VIMS, the old Bellary spelling, a larger government intake

Vijayanagar Institute of Medical Sciences is the government college in the city now written Ballari. The Karnataka state page groups VIMS Ballari with KIMS Hubballi among the larger government intakes. A private college that still prints “Bellary” in a title is not this campus.

If you still want a labelled NRI row in Karnataka

Leave the government column. The labelled NRI door in this state is private Category C on KEA, last published about ₹25 lakh to ₹45 lakh a year on the state page, or deemed NRI on MCC. The four private names already on a cluster page (Adichunchanagiri, Kempegowda Banashankari, MVJ, Vydehi) sit on the Karnataka private cluster page. If the family is still aiming at these eight government buildings, write one line on the sheet: MCC AIQ, government G fee last published ₹64,350, confirm live close. Do not add a sponsor affidavit to that sheet as if it were Category C at Banashankari.
