Why the changes for NEET UG 2025? The NTA says it's because of the COVID-19 situation. Some school boards left out parts of subjects because of the pandemic. But not all boards put back the same parts. So, to make things fair for all students, the NTA got requests to adjust the syllabus.

What's New in NEET UG 2025 Syllabus

The NTA says the updated syllabus isn't just cutting out unnecessary stuff. It's also adding things not in the NCERT books. These additions come from different school boards, like the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, the Bihar School Education Board (BSEB), the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), and others. FAQ's on NEET Syllabus 2025 by NTA

Question: Is there any change in the syllabus for NEET (UG) – 2025 with respect to the previous year?

Answer: Yes, modifications have been introduced in the NEET (UG) – 2025 syllabus as compared to the previous year. Topics that are not covered in any School Board curriculum or present in the latest NCERT book have been deleted. The syllabus underwent a revision and reduction, and focused on essential core concepts.

Question: Why the syllabus of NEET (UG) has been revised for the Academic Year 2025?

Answer: Amid the challenges posed by the COVID-19 situation, several School Boards opted to remove specific sections from the syllabus of each subject. Surprisingly, these omitted portions have not been reinstated by the respective Boards. The removals were inconsistent, varying across different boards. Consequently, the National Testing Agency (NTA) received numerous appeals requesting a thorough revision of the syllabus to address this disparity.

Question: In Unit 2 of the Biology syllabus, it is written – “of an insect (Frog)”. But Frog is not an insect.

Answer: It should be read as “of an insect and a frog”

Question: There are a few topics included in the updated syllabus but those are not given in the new NCERT Books.

Answer: These subjects have been included because they are part of the curriculum in diverse School Boards, including but not limited to the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Bihar School Education Board, National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education, Nagaland Board of School Education, and Board of Secondary Education Manipur.
