NEET / MBBS NRI 15% Quota Seats Explained!

NRI Quota is interchangeably used for AIQ (All India Quota) that NRI students will have access to 15% seats of the All India seats available at government medical colleges across India which will be administered by MCC.

To simplify this further, we can understand this in another way. So, every state will contribute 15% of their government medical college seats to the central pool. This central pool will be available for NRI students to get admission into.

NRI students cannot take admission under remaining 85% remaining seats, only seats they are eligible under NEET is 15% central pool seats.

Central Pool: This means that when all states in India contribute 15% of their total seats towards AIQ (All India Quota) these seats are called the Central Pool.

NRI Quota or we call it AIQ (All India Quota): This is the only option and opportunity for NRI students to get admission into. NRI students cannot take admission other than these seats as far as the AIQ is your priority and as far as you are planning to get into government medical colleges in India.

Remaining 85% seats altogether in India will be reserved for India students and some of the percentage goes to reserved category students like OBC, SC or ST etc. NRI students cannot get admission under these 85% seats in India.
