1. Which chapters are most important for Chemistry in NEET?
When you look at the past few years’ question papers, a clear pattern shows up. Chapters like Chemical Bonding, Coordination Compounds, Hydrocarbons and P-Block elements are almost always present. In Organic, basics and reaction mechanisms are high scoring. If your time is limited, these should be your first priority.
2. Was Chemistry in NEET 2025 difficult?
The general opinion was that Chemistry was moderate. Most of the direct questions were straight from NCERT, especially in Inorganic and Organic. Physical Chemistry, on the other hand, had a few tricky numerical problems that slowed students down. Assertion–reason and match-the-column types were the ones students found challenging.
3. How much is asked from Class 11 and Class 12?
The split is almost even. This year, about 47% came from Class 11 topics and 53% from Class 12. Many students ignore Class 11 in the final months, but that’s risky. Basics like Mole Concept or Thermodynamics often form the foundation for Class 12 questions.
4. Should I prepare according to chapter weightage?
Yes, that’s a smart approach. For example, Chemical Bonding alone contributes close to 9% of the paper, while Ionic Equilibrium and P-Block together can give you more than 12%. Spending more time on such chapters helps maximize marks. Of course, smaller topics should not be skipped completely, but you can revise them quickly.
5. Is NCERT enough for NEET Chemistry?
For the most part, yes. Around 80–85% of the paper comes directly or indirectly from NCERT. Even the examples and tables are sometimes copied word-for-word into the exam. That said, just reading NCERT is not enough—you need practice. Solving at least 4,000–5,000 questions from previous years and mock tests makes a big difference in speed and accuracy.
