As per the Graduate Medical Education Regulation, rules for the NEET admission for Medical Colleges in MBBS and BDS reserved seats in all Government, Private, and Deemed Universities all over India should be done by the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) result and it will include NRI students also.
NEET Eligibility for NRI Students
Admission to MBBS through the NRI Quota in NEET provides an exclusive pathway for individuals RESIDING OUTSIDE INDIA to return to their homeland and pursue a career in MEDICINE. In addition to the conventional 15 percent All India Quota (AIQ) and the 85 percent State Quota, esteemed universities in India extend admission opportunities to NRI candidates through the designated 15 percent NRI Quota in NEET, as stipulated by the Medical Council of India. Foreign Students Eligibility for Medical College in India

NRI Students Eligibility for Medical College in India

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has established specific eligibility criteria tailored for these individuals. Here are the NEET 2024 eligibility requirements for NRI/OCI/foreign candidates:

Educational Qualification: Candidates falling under the NRI/OCI/foreign category must have successfully completed or be in the process of completing the 10+2 examination or its equivalent from a recognized board or university. The qualifying examination should encompass fundamental subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English.

Subjects and Marks: Similar to their Indian counterparts, NRI/OCI/foreign candidates need to secure a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology in the qualifying examination. However, the minimum aggregate requirement for candidates in reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC-NCL) is set at 40%.

NEET Age Limit: For NRI/OCI/foreign candidates aiming to participate in NEET 2024, the minimum age stipulation is 17 years as of January 31, 2024. Importantly, there is no upper age limit imposed on these candidates.

MBBS ADMISSION 2024 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR NRI STUDENTS
1. Valid Passport Holder:
Prospective candidates applying for NEET UG 2024 are required to possess a valid and current passport.
2. Reserved for Bonafide NRI Candidates:
Exclusively designated NRI seats in government medical colleges and private institutes, under the NRI Quota, will be reserved solely for Bonafide NRI candidates.
3. NEET 2024 Qualification:
Applicants must have successfully qualified for the NEET 2024 examination to be considered for admission.
4. NRI Sponsorship Criteria:
Those seeking admission under NRI sponsorship must establish a genuine blood relation with the financial supporter, whether it be the mother, sister, father, brother, aunt, or uncle.
5. 60% or Above in PCB Core Subjects:
As part of the eligibility criteria, candidates are required to have successfully completed their class 12 examination with a minimum of 60% marks or above in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, or an equivalent examination.
6. Age Criteria:
NRI quota candidates must adhere to the specified age limits, with a minimum age requirement of 17 years and a maximum age limit of 25 years.

To get admission for NRI students, the following terms & conditions have to be followed

Guidelines for NRI Candidates

As per the rule relative of the student should be an NRI and live abroad as an NRI for a minimum of 5 years.
The person who sponsors the student’s fee should be a first-degree relative of the student. (Sibling/Parents).
- If the student has no Father/Mother or near relation or taken as a ward by some other nearest relatives such student also may be considered
- Paternal Uncle/Aunt (Sibling of the father)
- Maternal Uncle/Aunt (Sibling of Mother)
- Grandfather/Grandmother (Paternal)
- Grandfather/Grandmother (Maternal)
- First-degree Paternal and Maternal cousin
- Such a person should be NRI
A sponsor’s proof of NRI/OCI/PIO in the form of a certificate issued by the Indian Embassy / Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India along with the certificate in the prescribed proforma on non-judicial stamp paper of Rs.50 by Father/Mother/Guardian.

An affidavit from the sponsor that he/she looks after the student and will sponsor the entire course fee for the candidate.
NRIs bank account passbook of financial support.
Passport, Visa, Residence Proof, Nativity and Work Permit Certificate of that person who is the Financial Sponsor.
