The key issues the NEET aspirants should keep in mind are:
Clarity.
Your clarity on the examinations and the topics is crucial for a fruitful journey towards of your dream of becoming a doctor. All aspirants should concentrate on
- Concepts,
- Practice,
- Speed,
- Accuracy.
- Delivery
- Consistency
Equal importance to all topics
Easier questions may crop up from the topics you thought irreverent. It is imperative to organise a timetable giving time to all the subjects without neglecting any subject. Also, it is not correct to give undue importance time to any subject.
Practice well
Practicing as much as possible would help. That covers solving problems, analysing, and exploring. Your speed and accuracy is called for as the exam is time based. You may seek assistance whenever you are in doubt. You may use NCERT books as well as practice tests practically every day.
Make 10th and 12th base strong
You may make sure that you give due importance to Physics, Chemistry and Biology during your 10th and 12th standard. This would reap rich dividends for NEET as well.
Mock test
It is a good practice to do as many mock tests as possible. Here also equal distribution on each topic is recommended.
Physics
The recommended books are Physics - HC Verma
Your problem solving and analytical skills are going to be crucial.
Chemistry
- In Organic Chemistry, You need to study all reaction mechanisms and remember all named reactions. Study the chapter, and make notes while you study each chapter
- For Physical Chemistry, refer to NCERT and have your concepts clarified at your coaching institute.
- Inorganic Chemistry prepares precise notes for each chapter.
Biology
The NCERT books are of a good reference. Make note-taking and revision a practice.
Be consistent and focused
NEET syllabus is familiar and easy to crack NEET if you're focused, work hard and smart, with perfect consistency.
No Procrastination, please
Avoid procrastination as that is going to affect your score adversely.
Emphasise on Quantity over Quality
Quality matters more in NEET. That depends on the number of books you refer. However try to give your best not bothering about the result.
Flexibility
Make the time table to suit your pace. You can have time for bit of relaxation as well as free time. You may choose some hobbies like music, sports etc.
Online coaching
Online coaching has a distinct advantage like
- Live classes,
- Recordings of each class for later reference,
- Individual attention student,
- Needed counselling,
- Apt and suitable study material,
- Free practice tests,
- Online assessment and
- Regular monitoring.
Many states CET syllabus is already the one which is recommended by CBSE (changes were in effect from 2013). The concepts are same; it's just about the right approach and practising enough problems of NEET level.
It is important that your basics of almost all the topics are clear and that you can tackle easy or moderate level problems in those topics, because sometimes easier questions may come from the topics which you didn’t prepare that well.
Prepare a timetable giving time to all the subjects. Do not neglect any subject or give excessive time to any subject.
Solve as much problems as you can, increase your speed and focus more on accuracy, and the most important thing is, get your doubts cleared from your faculties and do not keep them pending and piling up.
Mock tests, reviewing of previous years question papers, looking confident are few of the qualities that will carry you through.
