About Periodic Classification of Element & Periodic Properties (JEEMain,Class11th)

What is Periodic Classification of Element & Periodic Properties ?

Periodic Classification of Elements: The Periodic Classification of Elements is the systematic arrangement of chemical elements based on their atomic number and recurring properties. It involves organizing the elements into a table called the periodic table, where elements with similar properties are grouped together. Periodic Properties: Periodic properties, also known as periodic trends, are the predictable patterns observed in the properties of elements as one moves across a period or down a group in the periodic table. Some important periodic properties include atomic radius (size of an atom), ionization energy (energy required to remove an electron), electronegativity (ability to attract electrons), and metallic character (tendency to exhibit metallic properties). These properties help understand and predict the behaviour and characteristics of elements.
