Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA)

Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) is a type of entrance examination which is conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Chennai. The examination is conducted for the aspirants who want to take admission in undergraduate-level courses at various engineering colleges of the state. The candidates who are willing to take admission in an undergraduate degree in various colleges present in the state will have to go through the TNEA examination first. The admission will be given to the students based upon the result of the examination and the marks that they have got in their class 12th examination. For registering for the TNEA 2021, the candidates will have to go to the official website of the organization and register themselves. The candidates can get admission in B.Tech and BE courses using this examination.

Eligibility :

Engineering Aspirants must satisfy the following criteria in order to be eligible for the KCET exam.

Eligibility For B.E / B.Tech:

  • Scoring: Candidates must have passed a 10 + 2 intermediate exam or equivalent exam by a recognized examining board.
  • Subjects: Applicants must have physics, chemistry, and mathematics/biology from a recognized university.
  • Appearance: Candidates taking the aptitude test can also apply for KCET 2024.

Notes: Candidates must have obtained at least 45% points (40% points for the reserved category) in PCM / PCB subjects. 

Paper Pattern:

To know about the paper pattern is very important for the preparation of the exam. Below is the exam pattern of TNEA:

  • Questions will be asked from Physics, Chemistry and mathematics.
  • Language of the questions will be English.
  • There will be 150 questions for total 150 marks.
  • 1 mark will be given for correct answer and no negative marking will be given for incorrect answer.
