Following the modification of the IIT JEE eligibility criteria, the Minister of Education today waived the 75% criteria for the JEE Main 2021 examination. The JEE Main examination shall be performed for admission to the NIT, the IIITs, the SPAs and the CFTIs.

The Minister of Education took his official Twitter account to announce the same. He said, "Considering the decision taken for the IIT JEE(Advanced) and in line with the decision taken for the last academic year, it was decided to waive the 75 per cent mark (in class 12 exam) eligibility criteria under the Joint Entry Examination (Main) for the next academic year 2021-2022."

 

Admission to the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST), Shibpur (West Bengal) and other Centrally Funded Educational Institutions (CFTIs-excluding IITs) shall be rendered on the basis of the ranks and merits of the applicants in the JEE Main examination.
