The Easiest IB Subjects to Get 7
Getting a perfect 7 on an International Baccalaureate Diploma is not a cake walk but certainly, it can be made a lot easier with the right combination of subjects based on their level of difficulty and the strengths of the student. The difficulty level of a subject depends upon the following factors: The basic aim of IB is to make subjects within one group equally challenging in nature and vary the cutoffs according to that. Please note if the student can score a perfect 7 in any subject depends on how well the student enjoys the subject and how well he or she can perform on that subject. The grade boundaries can be considered as a good indication but they cannot be considered as an official indicator of difficulty. Hence here is a list of a few subjects from every group of IB subjects according to the difficulty level. The students who are bilingual and attend international schools have more chances of scoring a perfect 7. Group 2 of languages offers a much wider variety of languages to choose from. In this section, it is advisable for students of Chinese or Spanish background, to opt for Mandarin or Spanish B respectively. If you have to choose between French and German, then one should opt for German as French is more scoring in nature when compared to the German language. Also in the southern hemisphere, this language is not skewed by family background bias. In this group, there are many subjects out of which a few seems to be much easier than others such as: Economics - It is one of the easiest subject to get a 7 in. This subject has the highest proportion of students achieving 7s in Standard Level and Higher Level. Philosophy - This is one such subject which has a very low percentage of students scoring 7s but has a high mean grade. It is considered to be easier in terms of receiving a decent marking but significantly harder to achieve an excellent remark. Business and management - The subject of Business and management has an even spread of students scoring 4s, 5s and 6s, but has a highly smaller number of students scoring a perfect score of 7. This group is highly controversial regarding the difficulty level of subjects in this group. In this section, there are a larger number of students who opt for subjects like Biology, Chemistry and Physics. According to statistical data, Physics is one of the easiest subjects to score a 7. The 23% students score a perfect 7 at the Standard level and 30% of students score a perfect 7 at a higher level. After Physics, it is chemistry with 14% students score a perfect 7 at standard level and 26% students score a perfect 7 at a higher level. Please note biology is not the easiest of the three due to a substantially greater amount of raw memorization required and according to the IB marking scheme the students are assessed on each and every minute details.
