DASA (Direct Admission Students Abroad)
There are more than 130 Indian schools in GCC and South East Asian countries. The wards of expatriates, who are searching for quality education, look for DASA for various reasons:
- They can seek NRI quota through DASA
- They can use SAT II score and can get into premier engineering institute like NITs and IIITs
- Being bereft of Indian Education system, they can still think of quality engineering education in India.
- The cost of admission in NITs and other premier engineering institutes in India is less, in comparison with other universities in USA.
By writing SAT II and applying through DASA, students can seek admission in 40 engineering institutes in India. This makes them available at least 40,000 seats.
In order to get admission in NITs through DASA, a candidate should have 10 + 2 certificate and at least 1440 of core in SAT II in PCM. A student should know that 1440 is the minimum score and it does not guarantee admission in NITs or other premier engineering institutes in India.
For the Indian nationals, in order to seek benefit of DASA, they should have done their 11 and 12th or equivalent from abroad.
DASA has a complete scheme of things, right from applying online to getting into any of the 40 institutes. It makes the students available the courses which they want to have. The number of students who apply to NITs and IIITs through DASA is huge and it keeps on increasing day by day.
DASA Update - 14th June, 2017
DASA fee revised again and its back to normal as earlier which was Rs. 1,25,000 / student / annum. This update released on 14th June, 2017. Parents and students who have already filed the applications can now unlock their application to resumit it again with the changes. Below is what ublished by DASA.

III GOI MHRD dated 14th June 2017, CIWG fees for UG DASA 2017 has been revised to per student per annum, payable either in Indian Rupees (INR) or equivalent US Dollars at existing exchange rate. It has been decided to give the provision to unlock the application of all applicants from to . If NRI applicants decides to switch the category, applicant is requested to login on DASA 2017 website, unlock the application, switch into the respective category, refill the academic program choices, upload appropriate documents and finally submit the application on or before . Other applicants can also edit/add academic program choices. To accommodate this change, DASA timeline has been rescheduled. Now the first round of seat allotment will be done on . Applicants are requested to refer the new timeline on the DASA 2017 website. The details on the refund mechanism resulting from reduced fee structure for CIWG will be communicated on the DASA website after completion of the admission process.""
