The projected start date for MCC NEET counseling in 2024 is July 2024. The NEET UG counselling 2024, which will be held by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), is for admission to MBBS, BDS, and BSc Nursing programmes for the 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats. On May 5, 2024, the NEET 2024 test was held, and on June 14, 2024, the results will be announced. Consequently, it is reasonable to expect that the MCC NEET 2024 counseling will start in July of that year, or around a month after the results. Depending on the amount of open seats, there will be four to five months of MCC NEET counseling in 2024, with around six rounds.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) is in charge of MCC. In India, MCC will provide NEET counseling for 27,868 BDS and 1,09,145 MBBS seats. Approximately 1,000 seats for BSc Nursing will be distributed through MCC NEET counseling.
What Is MCC Counselling:
Admissions counseling for undergraduate programs including MBBS, BDS, and BSc Nursing is handled by MCC. The candidates' results in the NEET test determine how the counseling procedure is carried out. The minimal qualifying score needed for admission to various MBBS, BDS, and nursing institutions is then determined by releasing a cutoff list.
The MCC counseling process is used to determine admission to MBBS, BDS, and BSc Nursing programs for seats reserved under the All India Quota (AIQ), institutional quota, or domicile (internal candidates) of Central Universities (Aligarh Muslim University, Banaras Hindu University, University of Delhi, Faculty of Dentistry, Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi), Employee State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), and Armed Forces Medical College, Pune. Admission has also completed for JIPMER and AIIMS.

Steps in the MCC NEET UG 2024 Counseling Process
Online counseling for MCC NEET UG is available at mcc.nic.in. There will be four NEET counseling rounds for AIQ seats: Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, and Stray Vacancy Round. The number of rounds will be determined by the state of seat vacancies. MCC announced two more rounds of counseling for admission to the BDS and BSc Nursing programs last year. For deemed/central universities, government and private medical institutions, ESIC/AFMS institutes, AIIMS, and JIPMER, seat assignments are made.
At the MCC NEET counseling, a minimum of seven stages are taken. Below is a detailed description of each stage.
Step 1: Seat Matrix Release
The seat matrix for MBBS and BDS programs at the participating universities that grant 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats will be made public by MCC.
Step 2: Enrollment
All rounds of the NEET 2024 counselling, with the exception of the Stray Vacancy phase, need candidates to register. Candidates must register entirely online and submit all required information, including their contact information, NEET 2024 roll number, rank, and scores. Refundable security deposits and non-refundable registration costs must also be paid.
Step 3: Selecting Filling
Candidates must choose the colleges they want to apply to for admission at this section. Candidates who have registered must use their login information to access the MCC website and fill out the options. According to MCC, "it is advised that, before attempting to fill choices online, a tentative list may be prepared first as per your preference of colleges, after going through the list of seats available."
Step 4: Select Locking
Locking the selections they have made is the next step. To obtain a print of the choices you have entered, you must lock the choices within the choice locking time. Candidates are advised by MCC to register early, lock their selections, and take a printout rather than waiting until the last minute. Before locking, please review the options you have provided. Once locked, they cannot be unlocked, not even if you made a mistake. It can lead to the assignment of a seat that you had no desire for. Please be aware that even with MCC, once a decision is locked, it cannot be unlocked.
Step 5: University Verification and Seat Allocation Processing
The applicants' selections and registration information will be checked by the universities and colleges. In light of this, they would inform MCC and reveal the seat allocation results.
Step 6: Result of Seat Allocation
After the due procedure, MCC will make the seat allocation outcome available to applicants who registered and submitted their selections. The final result, or seat allocation list, will be issued once a preliminary result has been announced and candidates have had a chance to voice any complaints. Candidates may choose to accept or proceed to the institute reporting round based on their seat assignment. Or they might decide to get better seats. If the latter, they will need to sign up for further counseling sessions.
Step 7: Upload Document
Upon the release of the seat allocation list, aspirants will need to provide supporting documentation to the MCC NEET 2024 counseling website. On this page, the list of papers has been mentioned.
Step 8: Reporting from the Institute
Applicants must visit the institutions where they want to receive medical admission in order to complete this last stage. Verifying the physical copies of the required paperwork and paying the entry costs are part of this procedure. It is important for candidates to be aware that the results of the seat allocation will be made public at the Stray Vacancy phase, the last and final round. Therefore, in this round, the registration or choice-filling process would not be relevant.
